The activities were held on September 6, September 13 and September 29, 2017 in Barangay Limaha, Butuan City, Tandag City and Surigao City. These activities conducted that aim to provide technical assistance to LGUs. The PNP personnel served as facilitators in the conduct of needs assessment to the IDPs from Marawi City.

Based on the assessment conducted, they were displaced due to the Marawi siege that started on May 23, 2017. Most of the IDPs are staying with their relatives who are in the cities of Butuan and Tandag, while some are staying in the old public market of Tandag City. Before the crisis, they were able to purchase their own food because, at that time, they still have source of income as traders. But now, they only rely on the donations and provisions of their relatives and are still in need of food and non-food items. Accordingly, they will return to Marawi City as soon as the crisis is resolved. Furthermore, the representatives from TESDA and DOLE provided the IDPs with appropriate livelihood training.
