Regional Crime Statistics

On the crime environment, from January 1- July 31, 2016, PRO 13 has recorded a total Crime Volume of 6,215. This figure shows a decrease by 2,040 incidents or 24% as compared with the same period in 2015 with 8,255 incidents.

From January to June 2016, Butuan City Police Office registered the highest crime volume with 1436 incidents followed by Surigao del Sur PPO with 1389 incidents, Surigao del Norte PPO with 1325 incidents, These provinces are the highest contributor to crime volume for this year while Dinagat Islands PPO registered the lowest with barely 357 incidents.

On Index Crime distribution, Physical Injuries is the most prevalent representing 27% or 470 incidents. Theft comes next at 27% or 444 incidents, followed by Robbery at 17% or 282, Murder at 13% or 208 incidents, Rape at 8% or 127 incidents, Carnapping (MC) at 5% or 91 incidents, Homicide at 2% or 30 incidents and Cattle Rustling at 1% or 9 incidents.
