100 IPs receive health cards from PhilHealth, PNP Caraga

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City ---- A total of 100 members of Indigenous People (IP) of Caraga received Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) cards from Police Regional Office 13 and PhilHealth Caraga given during the celebration of 118th Police Service Anniversary held here today, August 23.

The PhilHealth cards were distributed by Dr. Joel Arturo de Jesus, OIC, Division Chief Health Card Delivery Management Division of PhilHealth Caraga; PBGEN Gilberto DC Cruz, PRO13 Regional Director; and PLTGEN Archie Francisco F Gamboa, the Deputy Chief PNP for Operations and the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The tribal leaders who received the health cards were:

• Dakula Embat Dayog, tribal leader of Mahayahay, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte (ADN)

• Dakulan Abloy Bacahan, tribal leader of San Isidro, Santiago, ADN

• Dakula Richard Dade, tribal leader of San Vicente, Jabonga, ADN

• Dakula Fernando Biog, tribal leader of Balegian, Jabongan, ADN

• Oscar Colangan, tribal leader of Bunga, Jabonga, ADN

• Dakula Virgilio Pinao, tribal leader of Maraiging, Jabonga, ADN

• IPMR Randy Catarman, tribal leader of Poblacion, Jabonga, ADN

During his message, PBGEN Cruz mentioned about the upcoming launching of IP Village of Caraga for the protection of Indigenous People and preservation of their culture. He also recognized the IP’s contributions to the attainment of just and lasting peace.

Meanwhile, PLTGEN Gamboa acknowledged the Lumads for their presence during the celebration of PRO13 adding that more government programs have been set for the their welfare.

PNP Caraga celebrates 118th Police Service Anniversary

Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City----- PNP Caraga celebrated the 118th Police Service Anniversary with the theme: Pinaghusay na Serbisyo, Alay sa Sambayanang Pilipino in a ceremony held here today, August 23.

PNP Caraga director Brigadier General Gilberto DC Cruz led the arrival honors accorded to Lieutenant General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa, the Deputy PNP Chief for Operations (TDCO) who graced the occasion as the guest of honor and speaker.

Local chief executives, members of the Regional Advisory Council, high-ranking officials from the Philippine Army and other government agencies attended the activity.
Highlight of the occasion was the giving of awards to the deserving police personnel and units with exemplary performance.

The unit awardees were:
Surigao del Sur Police Provincial Office (PPO) for the surrender of Commander Hermano Quezada of Guerilla Front Committee 30, NEMRC and two other Communist Terrorist leaders; best performing unit in the campaign against illegal fishing, wanted person and illegal logging; and for the recovery of 37 bricks of cocaine valued at Php235.9million
Butuan City Police Office for the surrender of Ramilo Natividad, secretary of SECOM 15, SMRC; and best performing unit in the campaign against illegal mining and illegal gambling.
Dinagat Islands PPO for the recovery of 47 bricks of cocaine worth Php 289.625 million
Surigao del Norte PPO for the recovery of 37 bricks of cocaine worth Php483.237 million
Agusan del Norte PPO as best performing unit in Project Double Barrel Reloaded and in the arrest of most wanted person
Agusan del Sur PPO as best performing unit in the campaign against loose firearms
1st Special Action Battalion as best supporting unit in internal security operation

Individual awards were given to:

Congresswoman Ma. Angelica Rosedell M. Amante-Matba for her invaluable support as the former chairperson of the Regional Peace and Order Council and during the successful basketball game between the PRO13 personnel and cast of ‘Ang Probinsyano’
Police Colonel Francisco D. Dungo as best senior Police Commissioned Officer (PCO) for operations
Police Colonel Ringo C. Zarzoso as best senior PCO for Admin
Police Lieutenant Colonel Jerome A. Dela Cruz as best junior PCO for Admin
Police Major Jared Charles A. Joaquin as best junior PCO for Operations
Police Chief Master Sergeant Andrew M. Banez as best senior Police Non-Commissioned Officer (PNCO) for Admin
Police Chief Master Sergeant Noel P. Lambid as best senior PNCO for Operations
Police Staff Sergeant Felma A. Leonardo as best junior PNCO for Admin
Police Staff Sergeant Edwin L. Cellona as best junior PNCO for Operations
NUP Louwela L. Maratas as best Non-Uniformed Personnel (Non-Supervisory Level)
Brigadier General Nemesio M. Gacal, commander of the 4th Infantry Division; Colonel Allan D. Hambala, commander of the 401st Brigade; and Colonel Maurito L. Licudine, commander of 402nd Brigade for their intensified internal security operations
Police Lieutenant Mark Wayne M. Uberto, Staff Sergeant Jean T. Josafat, Staff Sergeant Rito Rey S. Sadicon, Corporal Retchell B. Golandrina, Patrolman Camelo G. Estioco, Jr., Patrolman Ernesto C. Moreno, and Patrolman Ronibal M. Astronomo who were all wounded during the conduct of police operations
Ms. Jocelyn E. Morano for her untiring support as president of the PRO13 Press Corps

In his message, the TDCO lauded the accomplishments of Police Regional Office (PRO) 13 having the record of most number of arrested lawless elements during the election period and the overwhelming recovery of billion worth of cocaine and illegal drugs in the region.

He also congratulated the awardees and urged them to continue serving as exemplars of better service to the community.

Shown during the pass in review activity were the mobility assets and equipment given by the PNP National Headquarters to PRO13.

“Let us strengthen our strong resolve to fight criminality. Do not rest on our laurel until we suppress the threats to peace and order. Be strong and resilient to perform the sworn mandate and be competitively at par,” the third highest-ranking police official stressed out.

The guest of honor and speaker also spearheaded the blessing of the playground of PRO13 Day Care Center.
