Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ------- The aggressive efforts of Police Regional Office 13 against illegal drugs resulted in the successful arrest of two newly identified drugs suspects and confiscation of a total of Php16,300.00 worth of shabu during separate buy-bust operations conducted by Agusan del Sur Police Provincial Office (ADSPPO) in Trento and Bunawan, Agusan del Sur yesterday, January 20.Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, PRO13 Director, reported that operatives of Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of ADSPPO together with personnel of Trento Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd ADS Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-ADS conducted anti-illegal drugs operation thru buy-bust in Purok 7, Brgy. Poblacion, Trento which resulted in the arrest of Neomark Esmana Tura, 25 years old, and a resident of Purok -7C Paradise, Brgy. Poblacion, Trento, Agusan del Sur. Authorities confiscated nine sachets of suspected shabu weighing 1.043 gram with Dangerous Drug Board value of Php12,300.00 and Php500.00 marked money from the suspect.Meanwhile, another buy-bust was conducted in P-2, Barobo, Brgy. Libertad, Bunawan which resulted in the arrest of Franklin Mahilum Barnido, 39 years old, and a resident of P-14, Brgy. Poblacion, Trento, Agusan del Sur.The operation was carried out by joint personnel of PIU ADSPPO, Bunawan MPS, 2nd ADS PMFC and 1303rd Regional Mobile Force Company.Seized during the operation were two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 0.3389 gram with DDB value of Php4,000.00 and one Php1,000.00 bill as buy-bust money. Rosales St., Brgy. San Ignacio, Butuan City around 11:45PM yesterday, January 20.Butuan City Police Station (BCPS) 1 received a report that a suspect who was believed to be under the influence of liquor was carrying a gun and fired it once causing alarm and danger.Personnel of BCPS1 immediately responded to the report and arrested the suspect who was identified as Noel Tinga Salvador, 50 years old, and a resident of Purok 5, Silad, Barangay Mahogany, Butuan City.One caliber .45 pistol, two magazines, and 15 ammunition were recovered from his possession. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ------- A Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) member with two standing warrants of arrest for murder was killed in a shootout with police operatives around 1:00AM today (January 20) in Surigao del Norte.PNP Caraga director Police Brigadier General ROMEO M CARAMAT, JR. identified the suspect as Cecel Nuñez a.k.a. Dennis, 59 years old, resident of Brgy. Trinidad, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte and the assistant team leader of Squad 1 of Sandatahang Yunit Pampropaganda (SYP)16B, Guerilla Front 16, Northeastern Mindanao Regional Committee. He was also listed as top 5 CTG in provincial level and became part of the 3rd quarter of 2020 Periodic Status Report.The Regional Trial Court Branch 29 in Surigao City issued the arrest warrants under criminal case Nos. 15066 and 15067 without recommended bailbond.Surigao del Norte Provincial Intelligence Unit, 1st Surigao del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Surigao City Police Station were about to serve the warrants of arrest at the suspect’s residence when the latter opened fire.The police officers then retaliated, neutralizing Nuñez.Recovered from the crime scene were one caliber .38 revolver, two live ammunition of caliber .38, one fired cartridge case of cal .38, two fired cartridges of cal 9mm, and one hand grenade. Based on investigation, Nuñez was one of the suspects in the killing of Elmer Madrona and Bertoldo Rangas on April 5, 2019 in Brgy. Rodriguez, Libertad, Butuan City ------- Five suspects who are among the most wanted persons were apprehended in separate manhunt operations yesterday, January 18, as PNP Caraga’s relentless campaign against most wanted persons in line with the directive of the Chief PNP Police General DEBOLD M SINAS. Police serve the warrant of arrest dated December 9, 2020 to Erwin Andrade Saang, 42, in Purok 3, Barangay Dumalagan, Butuan City for violation of Section 5 of Republic Act No. 7610. Saang is listed as Enhance Managing Police Operation (EMPO) top 2 station level and can bail at Php 120,000.00 for his temporary liberty.Jestoni Dandanon Villacencio, 28, was also arrested in Purok 4 Escaño, Barangay Ong Yiu, Butuan City. Local court had issued a warrant for Villacencio’s arrest for qualified theft on November 12, 2020. He is listed Enhance Managing Police Operation (EMPO) top number 9 and can bail at Php 24, 000.00. On the same day, police officers arrested a murder suspect REYNALDO LOPECILLO APDUHAN JR., 36, in Purok 5, Barangay 3, Buenavista, Agusan Del Norte. Local courts recommend Php140,000.00 for his bail. Operatives also tracked down and arrested Hernanie Baclayon Bacquial alias “Nanie”, 72, in Purok 9 Barangay Tagabaca, Butuan City for rape. No bail was recommended for his temporary freedom. Bacquial is listed Enhance Managing Police Operation (EMPO) top number 9.Larry Antad Omba, 46, was arrested in Purok 4, Sitio Nangka, Barangay Cabangahan, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur for Murder. The warrant was issued on February 10, 2015 with no bail recommended. “This should serve as a warning to criminals. Romeo M Caramat Jr stressed out today that there would be no let-up in the loose firearms campaign of police units under him all over Caraga region as this could be a potential instrument of violence and oppression. He also disclosed that as of today, the Regional Operation Management Division recorded a total of 140 assorted firearms seized during its one day “Simultaneous Anti-criminality Law Enforcement Operation” (Sacleo) on January 15 including a 5.56 Galil rifle, one M16 rifle, two KG-9 .9mm rifle, five .30 Caliber Carbine rifle, 37 Caliber .45 pistols, three 9mm pistols, 69 Caliber .38 revolvers, two Caliber .22 rifle and 20 shotguns while 12 Hand Grenades were also confiscated. During the simultaneous implementation of 90 search warrants issued by local courts, 77 suspects were arrested while one died in police operations. “The conduct of the one-day simultaneous Implementation of search warrants focusing on loose firearms aimed to curtail the criminal capabilities of lawless elements in the Caraga region.
